Ms. Hopkins is the School Counselor for our downstairs floor. Offering support and guidance to ensure our students meet their academic goals, as well as supporting their social and emotional needs, and college/career education and readiness.

Shujuan Shannon, School Counselor

Let me introduce myself… 

My name is Shujuan (pronounced Shu-wahn) Shannon.  I was born and raised in Ridgeville, SC, but spent most of my life in Metro Atlanta, GA. I moved back home in 2018, as I felt the need to be closer to my parents, and began working at CEWN.

I am a proud mom of one adult daughter.

I began my career in education in Colleton County in 1987 after graduating from my beloved South Carolina State University, with a B.S degree in Home Economics Education. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) for 16 years at the middle and high school levels in SC and GA.  In 2014, I became a school counselor, after attending the University of West Alabama, and have enjoyed the career move ever since. 

I love working with our students and empowering them to find their passions.
